REDUCER TYPES

Common Stainless Steel Reducer Configurations

Reducer selection depends on piping layout, flow requirements and whether the pipe centerline should remain aligned during the transition between different diameters.

01

Concentric Reducer

Concentric reducers transition symmetrically between two pipe diameters while maintaining a common centerline. They are widely used in vertical and general piping arrangements.

Common Centerline Symmetrical Transition
02

Eccentric Reducer

Eccentric reducers transition between different pipe diameters with offset centerlines and are commonly selected where piping layout or flow conditions require one side to remain aligned.

FAQ

Stainless Steel Reducer FAQs

What is the difference between a concentric and eccentric reducer?

A concentric reducer transitions symmetrically between two pipe sizes and maintains a common centerline. An eccentric reducer uses offset centerlines so that one side of the piping transition can remain aligned.

Can you supply ASME B16.9 stainless steel reducers?

Yes. ASME B16.9 butt-welding reducers can be supplied according to the required large-end size, small-end size, material grade and project specification.

Are 304L and 316L stainless steel reducers available?

Yes. 304/304L and 316/316L are commonly supported stainless steel grades. Duplex, super duplex and selected special alloys can also be evaluated according to the RFQ.

Can EN 10204 3.1 material certificates be provided?

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates can be provided where required. PMI, dimensional inspection, visual inspection, NDT and third-party inspection can also be arranged according to the purchase specification.

What information should I provide for a reducer RFQ?

Please provide reducer type, material grade, standard, large-end size, small-end size, schedule or wall requirement, quantity and delivery destination. Project specifications or drawings can also be provided where relevant.
