TEE TYPES

Common Stainless Steel Tee Configurations

Tee selection depends on whether the branch connection uses the same pipe size as the main run or requires a reduced branch size.

01

Equal Tee

Equal tees have matching nominal sizes on the run and branch connections and are commonly used for same-size branch piping.

Same Branch Size Butt Weld
02

Reducing Tee

Reducing tees provide a smaller branch connection than the main run and are used where branch pipe size must be reduced.

FAQ

Stainless Steel Tee FAQs

What is the difference between an equal tee and a reducing tee?

An equal tee uses the same nominal size for the main run and branch connection. A reducing tee uses a smaller branch connection than the main run.

Can you supply ASME B16.9 stainless steel tees?

Yes. ASME B16.9 butt-welding tees can be supplied according to the required material grade, run size, branch size and project specification.

Are 304L and 316L stainless steel tees available?

Yes. 304/304L and 316/316L are commonly supported materials. Duplex, super duplex and selected special alloys can also be evaluated according to the RFQ.

Can EN 10204 3.1 material certificates be provided?

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates can be provided where required. PMI, dimensional inspection, visual inspection, NDT and third-party inspection can also be arranged according to the purchase specification.

What information should I provide for a tee RFQ?

Please provide tee type, material grade, standard, run size, branch size, schedule or wall requirement, quantity and delivery destination. Drawings or project specifications can also be provided where relevant.

Need Stainless Steel Tees?
